DETAILS:

California Community College Association for Occupational Education’s (CCCAOE) conferences are widely known for offering powerful keynote, plenary, and pre-conference experiences. Each year, CCCAOE works with a theme. This year’s theme is Shaping a Sustainable Future for California’s Diverse Workforce.

 

Your CCCAOE professional development planning committee for the Fall 2024 Conference has aligned the conference strands with Vision 2030 and the feedback you provided in the 2023 Survey.

  • Leaning into the Future: Artificial Intelligence, Robotics/Automation, Healthcare, Cybersecurity, STEM, Inter-sector programs

 

  • Educational Access for All Lifelong Learners:  Adult Education, DuE, RERP, HRCC, K12SWP, Rising Scholars/Justice-Involved Learners, Individuals with Disabilities, Not-for-Credit

 

  • Experiential & WorkBase Learning: Apprenticeship, CPL, CBE, Career Placement, Internships, LAEP and Work Experience

 

  • Climate Practice: Forestry Management, Electric Vehicle, Microgrid, Climate and Sustainable Education Programs (SEEP), Environmental Sustainability, BioTech, AgTech, Regenerative Systems

 

  • Social Mobility Strategies for CTE Students with Equity in Success: Certificates, Degrees and CC Baccalaureate, Stackable Credentials, Enrollment Management (non-traditional scheduling), etc

 

  • Support: Funding, Marketing, Advisory Committees, Curriculum, Retention, Summer Bridging, Counseling, Student Affinity Groups, WIB, WIOA

ITINERARY

Two Full days and two half days.

Pre-conference sessions are on Tuesday, October 22nd, from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm and Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 8:00 am-10:00 am. The full conference begins on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 10:00 am. The conference will wrap up on Friday, October 25, 2024, by noon.

Meals: Breakfasts are provided Wed. – Fri. Mid-morning breaks, lunch, and mid-afternoon breaks will be provided Wed. – Fri.. President’s Reception on Wed. Evening. All at the OMNI.

There will be two full days and two half days with:

  • Three Pre-Conference Sessions
  • Regional Meetings
  • Three Keynotes
  • Student Panel
  • Chancellor’s Office updates
  • Five Concurrent Plenary Sessions
  • 30 breakout sessions

CCCAOE is only accepting credit card payments for all events and conferences moving forward.

OMNI Rancho Mirage room booking link. as of 08/05/24 OMNI rooms are sold out. You can check back frequently for open rooms if cancellations are made. The cut-off date is September 30. Until that date, when guests cancel their reservations, the rooms go back into the block, so it could be possible for guests to make more reservations. 

OMNI Rooms started at $199++/night with a daily $15 resort fee that includes parking, gym, etc.

New OMNI Policy: Guests must make a *refundable one-night deposit when they make their reservations.

*Refundable with a 72-hour notice (three days before the arrival date, by 12:00 pm Pacific time).

F.A.Q.

Are hotel accommodations included in my registration?

No. – All attendees are responsible for covering the cost of their own hotel accommodations

Is the preconference worked into the full registration cost, or is that a separate cost?

The pre-conference is worked into the full registration. However, that day does not include meals.
Separate RSVPs for each pre-conference offering will be required once they are released.
Stay tuned for when those flyers are released to RSVP.

Will meals be provided to attendees?

Breakfast is Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Lunch is served on Wednesday and Thursday. A light evening reception is served on Wednesday evening.

Is there a way to request a refund if I register and am unable to attend?

Yes. – Please consult our refund policy here.

Can I substitute my registration for someone else?

Attendance Substitutes are acceptable. After the cancellation deadline, there are no refunds.
Please email substitute’s first and last name, cellphone (for registration purposes) as well as their job title and college/organization affiliation to registration@cccaoe.org for name tag and registration purposes as early as possible.
Please include your name and organization in the email.
