WHAT THIS EVENT IS ALL ABOUT

Advocacy Day is a legislative action day full of meetings between career education leaders and members of the California Legislature and their staff. CCCAOE, in partnership with W Strategies LLC, will schedule advocacy meetings for all participants and provide talking points and advocacy tips – all you have to do is travel to Sacramento and spend the day at the Capitol.

Advocacy Day Overview

8:30 am – Registration at Sheraton Grand Hotel

9:00 am – Welcome Speaker

9:30 am – Training – Join Austin and legislative staffers to learn the basics, messaging for the day, and role play.

11:00 am – Meetings at the Capitol

Apply what you have learned in small group meetings with legislators and staffers.

Box lunch on the go.

4:30 pm – Debrief Session – Join us back at the Sheraton to share stories, provide feedback on follow-up action items with members, and network with your peers.

Are hotel accommodations included in my registration?

No. – All attendees are responsible for covering the cost of their own hotel accommodations

Will meals be provided to attendees?

Yes, a box lunch will be provided.

Is there a way to request a refund if I register and am unable to attend?

Yes. – Please consult our refund policy here.
Refunds will take 4 – 6 weeks post conference.

Can I substitute my registration for someone else?

Attendance Substitutes are acceptable. However, after the cancellation deadline, you are responsible for full payment.
Please email substitute’s first and last name, cellphone (for registration purposes) as well as their job title and college/organization affiliation to registration@cccaoe.org for name tag and registration purposes as early as possible.
Please include your name and organization in the email.

I have attended past events. Is there a place to login and skip entering all my information again?

No, each event is a new registration.

Will we know which state legislators we are meeting with before the day of the event?

No, appointments will be set and provided on the day of the training.
